Beginners Terrarium Workshop

Master the art of terrarium making with one of Melbourne’s finest mini landscapers, Amy Wong from Petite Green. You will learn plant selection for open or closed terrariums, special soil composition for ferns, terrarium design and terrarium care.

All items are included; plants, soil, glass vessel and small figurines.

TRAVEL CUP WORKSHOP

Paint and decorate your very own travel cup. This evening session is hands-on and is aimed at anyone who has always wanted to learn about the ceramic decorating process. This workshop will focus on decorating techniques including under-glaze application, masking and glazing. You will get the opportunity to make 1 regular size travel cup and choose a food safe, silicone lid and cup to match your design.

All materials, tools and firing is included, just bring yourself in some clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty (an apron and an old towel might be a good idea). Work will be ready for collection from my studio in Thornbury approximately 4-6 weeks after the session.

The group lessons are small so that everyone gets the attention to learn at their own pace. The small group setting is a relaxed and enjoyable way to learn the basics of ceramics. Its also a great activity to do with a few of your friends!

Workshop goes from 6:00 - 7:30 and will include a knock off drink!

PLANTER DECORATING WORKSHOP

Paint and decorate your very own planter. This evening session is hands-on and is aimed at anyone who loves plants and has always wanted to learn about the ceramic decorating process. This workshop will focus on decorating techniques including under-glaze application, masking and glazing. You will get the opportunity to decorate 1 planter and choose a plant from a special selection of amazing plants from Greener House to fit your planter.

Botanical Art Workshop

This workshop is a great introduction into botanical art. In this workshop Jessie will guide you through her step-by-step process to create your own botanical painting.

You will gain an understanding in:
- How to draw your subject accurately 
- Transferring your drawing onto watercolour paper
- Observing light, shade and form
- Basic colour theory
- Matching and mixing the correct colour
- Watercolour techniques including layering, wet-in-wet, blending and dry brush
- An appreciation for the minutiae of nature!

This workshop welcomes students of all experience levels. All art materials and biscuits provided.

Ceramics Workshop

Hand-building is the best way to learn about clay and how it works as a medium. This single session is hands-on and is aimed at beginners who have always wanted to learn about the ceramic process. This workshop will focus on hand building, including how to attach pieces together and decorating techniques including under-glaze application and carving. You will get the opportunity to make 2-3 pieces. 

All materials, tools and firing is included, just bring yourself in some clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty (an apron and an old towel might be a good idea). Work will be ready for collection from my studio in Thornbury approximately 4-6 weeks after the session.
